a head full of mustard gas
or something as disrupting
I saw my ex wife
with a bodyguard
sent her my condolences
after all
we still live in the same building

down at the Carnevale
my head was stuffed full of mushrooms
and the lights were rather inviting
I must say
the girl who won best prize
shouldve been exiled to the lower east side
but my neighbor looked great
in her glitter
and rising peacocks bloom
not my wife, mind you
not even my ex wife
just a redhead that I’d had the occasion
to later circumvent

on the phone
I finally reached
the one i love
she had nearly been
seduced by a dutchman
and his studious wife
we recoiled at the horror
of our respective evenings
and cackled at
the joviality we achieve
when in one anothers
distant embrace

on nights like this
there is little doubt
about why I love you
the way
that I do

I swear, I don't know how you do it--but when you write "gray tones" I get depressed, but when you write "happy" I get positively giddy! You managed "cute" and "sweet" without being trite. I DO hope this one is for real for ya Drex.
