Summer sun
Of summer begun
Shone on all sitting in thought,
But the pool
Beckoning so cool
With Lotus fragrance wind brought,
Nowhere hide
Teachers go inside
To find relief in shadow
Young student
To the poolside went
And casually dipped in toe.

This is a response to a challenge by a friend to write
“about a lotus blossom” and barely meets the challenge.
Unfortunately there are not many lotus blossoms in this city.
