What I wouldn't give to see you for a moment
I'm here praying on my knees
I need some of your strength and tenderness
All I feel is my heart continue to bleed

I need your wisdom and kindess
To touch my life once more
Though I know that in the heavens
Is where you now forever soar

Still though what I wouldn't give
For just a moment or two
To tell you once again Mom
How very much I love you

With age, I have grown
I've remembered all you taught me
You are the angel of my life
You will live inside me endlessly

No one could ever begin to understand
All that you became to me, both a Mom and a friend
I know we'll see each other once more
Till then all my love I send

I spoke with a friend today
She let me know I'm in your thoughts too
I've met some amazing people over the years Mom
I think the good things that happen are all a part of you

I need you now, so I'll close my eyes tight
Perhaps you'll feel me as you glow in your forever lasting light
I don't need magic though, just your love
Here on Earth I'll be living, as you watch me from high above

"love is like a butterfly--
if you chase it,
it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
something beautiful"

Oh Amy, this really touched my heart. I can understand this, because my Mother and I are very good friends. We talk on the phone three or four times a day...if not more. This is a wonderful poem and needs to be back on the frint page.
Hugs to you
Ethel

Thank you all for your wonderful and heartfelt replies. I have only one piece of advice to anyone out there who might be listening...if you have your Mom and are close to her, treasure that, if you have your Mom and you aren't find ways to gap the distance of your relationship. I wish everyday that even though my Mom and I were close, I had only one more day to show her everything she meant to me. Thank you all for reading. Take care.

Tears were welling in my eyes as I read this achingly beautiful poem about your mother.
Your love for each other is eternal.

Sending you an extra warm hug during this difficult time for you. Know that she is there watching over you. You are not alone, Dear Amy.
