What does time teach
but history being relearned,
ghostly words haunt the future
memories cling to the dust
yellow parchment on rough edges
for what was bleached new
will fade from view
worn pages of treasures
reincarnated clear imagery
transfixing time’s aging
adhesion of poet to poet
scholar to scholar
time to time remembered
time teaches what is important.
