I Saw God Today I saw God today, his visage that of an eagle gliding on golden wings as he perused land and sky. He was a mountain thrusting into infinite space, probing as though in search of heaven itself. He was the rainbow that domed the earth after sending restorative rain to an arid and thirsting land. His beauty was abundant in the multihued flora of a meadow, and the nearby lake of swirled blue crystal profuse with life. I saw him in the black shroud of night as he positioned the stars, and gave light to the burgeoning moon. He was there in the morning sunrise adorning the sky in blushing tones of pink, rose and orange streaks. He wanders a forest of stately trees filtering the sun, greeting summer breezes with friendly sighs. I hear him walk the floor of heaven when raucous storms prevail, watching as he illuminates the ground with spears of lightening. Wearing the facade of a kindly old man sharing his faith with little children, he becomes the target of hateful remarks. Smiling gently he replies, "I love you and I forgive you." The perpetrators are stunned into silence. I saw God today. |

This is an interesting poem. Well balanced, I like it a lot. Personally, the last time I saw god, she was 5'10" and had red hair. |
