The howling winds today carried my parched thoughts to distant lands of desert sands, and the memory of a gentle touch… your hand upon my sunburnt face. It’s the memory of you I cherish most, after years and tears of regretting that day of goodbye. Yet that memory somehow sustains me through many dark days and nights, as in my heart and soul I’ve held onto your touch, forever. For a short while we floated happily upon the same blue waves, taking in the feel of poetic love. Crested moments swept us out to sea and then back again to the reality of our landlocked circumstances. Then somewhere upon silent shores, our mutual mental meanderings washed up our would-be Love affair like so much useless debris... flotsam and jetsom hearts tossed about like yesterday’s seaweed, left to rot on the beach of dreams. I sat and looked out from my perch on the jetty wondering what happened, what went wrong. Then I remembered clearly, it was my fault. And as the sun sank into the silent sea, all I heard was the cry of the gulls passing by me. Or was that my own cry carried upon the surf? So many years have slipped by, and I still find myself wondering why I chose the path I did, and not the one that led straight to you. And I don't have a clue today if you feel the same color of blue or if your skies are cheerful and rosy. |

An aching heart so wonderfully expressed! YOU ROCK GIRL! If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

It's nice to have some company. What is that old saying...misery loves company? |
