Never close enough

Another time, another place
A sense of peace, a state of grace
Full of right, lacking wrong
Beautiful lyrics to a somber song
Time ran out, I stood still
Left me numb...I could not feel
Lost and wondering where to turn
Over my shoulder, the bridges burn
No one around, I'm all alone
They claimed to love me
yet, their all gone.
