Thoughts During Poetry Readings….2002 I play on words, so… Allow your mind to steal My mines & allow gold to filter in ~*~ …and when will I get back to you these silent thoughts these lovely moments while others on the cape or on the Pacific hold memories ~*~ TONITE They all clapped After each and every poem And did not wait or pause Or realize Her depth Who is better at poetry A man who feels? Or a woman, Who counts syllables? ~*~ I want [need, desire, bleed] to write And then read As if my Voice Should bear true My own. ~*~ Serve me well This quiet thought Come loud. Then whisper at me again Making the promise That if nothing is left Let my heart Alone Stand As poet. ~*~ She sits alone & only the open book invites her in blank pages for a full mind. ~*~ [Side note: In an opportunity to fill up the wonderful addition of several shelves now added to my office space, I went through boxes of “not yet organized but I’ll get to it” stuff which is now, officially, more organized than before. In doing so, I ran across some pages of thoughts while enjoying a poetry reading from a year ago with my friend, and editor, Bridget Shenachie. With all due respect, I dedicate these thoughts of poetry to Shenachie.] |

I want [need, desire, bleed] to write And then read As if my Voice Should bear true My own Oh, K. I know what this means to me...I am not sure if it was what you intended. But it is something that has brought a tear to my eye. This is just lovely. Patricia |

Sunshine~~~Glad to see that you are getting things organized. I've written some thoughts down at times and came back to them months later and when reading them I can't ever remember writing them in the first place. I hope you aren't that bad. LOL. Enjoyed...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |

What an honor to have one of your poems dedicated to me! Such an apt description of mining the depths of experience and emotion and expressing the riches found there. It sounds as though you reorganized not only your shelves, but your thoughts on your passion to write. This is a keepsake treasure of your beautiful gift of friendship. Karilea....I've read my poetry at nights like this...sitting on tall stool with everyones eyes and ears, but I have such a quiet voice. Poetry read aloud by the author, takes on meaning. Knowing you voice, I know hearing yours would be beautiful. |

Karilea, this is beautiful. I also would love to hear you read your own poetry. I know it would be a beautiful and touching experience, for you to read it the way that you intend for it to be read. Hugs Ethel |

I hope it's a man who feels, because I'm stuck that way....though I count 'em when I can make myself do it..... This a beautiful expression of what it's like, no doubt about it -- you definitely do both! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

"I want [need, desire, bleed] to write And then read As if my Voice Should bear true My own" I tend to feel alot...the desire the wanting the needing the bleeding to write I know the feeling. You're an awesome poet. Kinda makes me feel like I'm only a boy who feels.. Jai |
