     Love you when you’re young
     when life is new and just begun
     teach you how to walk and run
     teach you songs yet unsung
     teach you how to see and feel
     teach you what is false and real
     love you laughter, love you fun
     love you when you’re young.

     Love you in your youth
     maturity and love and truth
     and why it is
     and why it’s not
     respect and love and true.
     love you in your youth.

     love you in your middle years
     love you hurt and love you tears
     love you what you’ve yet to do
     love you love as I love you
     love you laughter, love you fears
     love you in your middle years.

     love you in your ancient age
     love you as a child and sage
     share with you the love you gave
     love you hope and parentage
     love you in your ancient age.

     love you when your life is done
     love you as you did and were
     love you laughter, years and thought
     remember you, forget you not
     take your love and pass it on
     learn from what you lost and won
     then give your love as life goes on.
