My Time

I often lose touch with reality,
as I ponder my place in life.
I know that God has more planned for me,
than fighting through all this stress and strife.

I have goals and dreams,
but sometimes it’s hard to keep a clear vision.
I fight day in and day out,
praying I make the right decisions.

Decisions that will hopefully bring me closer,
to each one of the goals I have set-up in line.
One by one I’ll watch them fall,
until at last I’ve taken what I know is mine.

Mine because I’ve claimed it,
God provided the opportunity
and left the rest up to me.
I have the plan; I have the desire;
now its time I show the world
all a strong black man can be.
