It has been almost six years now
since you died
You said you loved me and
I really thought you may have
........sometimes

The times when you weren't
speaking words that
cut through my heart
And the times you weren't
slapping or  gently  pushing me
across the room
or while riding down the road hollering
and screaming at me because I just
happened to look out the window
or did some other
little thing
you didn't
like

And I thought that you just  might
mean it when you said that
you loved me
until
you would get insanely jealous
and accuse me of all the
things your other women were actually
doing with
you

But then you would be so sorry
you      said
And you would cry and beg me to
be patient with you
You would tell me that you were
like you were because of
the way you were abused
as a child
And you would beg me
not to
leave

Then
after you died
I found out some unspeakable things
that you did and
now I know.....
You could have  never
loved me
in all those years that we were married

If you had
how could you have done
the horrible things that
you did?

Pains like those never go away completely, but hopefully they do lessen with time. It must have been very difficult to learn of things after his death, where you weren't given the opportunity to confront him with them and hear his side of the story.

I am so happy that a man of Gary's stature has come into your life to heal old wounds and to treat you with the love and respect that you so richly deserve, Dear One.

May you continue writing happy chapters in your book of life with your Honey-Love!

Luvs 'n hugs to you love bugs!
Linda

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Ethel, I'm so sorry that you had to go through such a difficult relationship, dearest friend, I can understand that he may have went through much pain as a child but that is no excuse for having to be abusive to you as I too have went through a lot and I never want to hurt anyone! (sad sigh) You deserve so much more and I know with a golden hearted man like Gary you will finally find true love forever, yay, God Bless You, you deserve extra big angel hugs for this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Oh Gemma, I thank you, my sweet little friend.
You are too sweet to have to be hurt too.
It's hard to understand sometimes, isn't it?
Yes, I am very blessed to have my Gary. He is
so patient and loving with me.

.
Noah, I know. There are a lot of people who have been abused that don't abuse others. It's just and excuse when people use that as the reason to mistreat others. I know that you never want to hurt anyone, my friend. Thank you for being you, my friend.

.
James, thank you so very much. That's very sweet
for you to say. I really appreciate it, too.
.
.
Chris, thank you, sweet Lady, for that. I
really appreciate you. You are so sweet.

Heart hugs to each of you.....

Ethel,
And look at the beauty that walked of that living hell... Tragedy without reasonable explanation and still overcome. Gary is lucky to have the woman you have become and we are blessed by you as well. Sad that some memories never go away but only leave a scar.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I thought I've read this one. But I don't see a reply. But that last line was so familliar, so vivid...

Yeah, Liz...it's a repost....just a little different font and color. It's from Open 24,I think. I was feeling down in the dumps for a while, and this came to mind.

Goodness, you've got a really good memory, haven't you? Thanks, Liz.

Wonderful write!  Sometimes it's hard to accept bad things even when they are long done and gone.  I really enjoyed this one!

Of course it would still hurt. That pain in unbelievably hard I bet. And really no one can live a normal life for awhile after that!

Hopefully you will be given the strength you need to live through it every year!
