He left me wanting
in pools of moon
kept my heart held
in soft sigh of swoon

Breathy whisper achings
I hear his sad croon
quiet reverent hushes
my soul plays his tune

I see his eyes, feel his touch
but he leaves me, much too soon
all alone I splash in puddles
memories, of yesterday’s June

and still he leaves me, wanting
heart and soul drenched in moon
forever, on my lips in sigh
sentimental, soft swoon

I am swooning now...
ahhhhhh the alliterations...the assonance..
the rhymes...and last but never least..
the ache.
Love the soulful, sensual undercurrent in this Sea-girly...a bittersweet beauty here.

I remember a young girl
who came in saying "teach me..."

and now look at who is teaching whom.

Basking in your moon beams is always such a pleasure. But the sand in my pants...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This guy left too soon.

Hey, the pic reminds me of one night here when the moon was full and hanging low over the ocean.  It didn't look real, just like something out of a painting.  A lovely poem and equally lovely picture to go with it, Susan.
