The rains that fall, the heaven's glow
The lightning striking earth.
The wanted sip of crystal flow
A newborn eagle's birth.

Oh come to me relying heart,
Oh come to me my love.
For of the earthen air I hear
the cooing of the dove.

The rains that pelt the dry hard floor
from out the arid sky.
The plains upon the heated walk,
a buzzard’s coal black eye.

Oh come to me decrying heart,
Oh come to me my love.
For of the earth, the sky of blue
I soar the clouds above.

The dove upon the tree in sway
from the breeze of slight.
The howl of dog, the Indian chant
beneath a pale moon’s light.

Oh come to me the crying earth.
Oh come to me the sea.
Oh bring to me the star filled sky.
My death and destiny.

For in the sky, the emerald sky
among the azure blue.
A dove now soars, a tear filled eye,
joined by an eagle true.

Oh come and be my ecstacy.
Oh come and stoke my fire.
I wish to roam the desert floor
in search my heart's desire.

Alright Barry, now that I have some handle on meter (some I say) at least I understand it now...when do I get to this...the images, the flow, and the beauty.  Huh?  Not in my wildest dreams, I say.

Oh so sorry, I am not supposed to beating myself to a pulp today...Karilea said that was her job!

Lovely, Barry.

Dear Magnus - this is beautiful. I can almost hear the music that would accompany this song of words.

"Said you'd give me light...
...but you never told me about the fire."

It IS a song...

I know!  I have heard it
many times, I just never
knew the words.
