~*~ Lying by the river's edge In clover pink and white, My eyes scan the skies above, 'Tis such a wondrous sight. Fluffy clouds of swirling shapes Soon stir imagination, Sailing ships and castles ring With witch's incantation. Stallions race 'cross dusty plains With long manes flowing free, Knights of Old in armor gold, Charge forth with chivalry. Tall dragons snorting fire, Fierce lions roar with pride, Swans swimming on a glassy pond In slow and graceful glide. Mountains topped with ice caps, Scrub palms on desert plains, Oceans rolling to the skies, Clouds dark with stormy rains. Unicorns and elfin sprites, Frolic on banks of stream, Pixies prance and fairies dance, In this my summer's dream. Dixie, please do come along! We can gaze at the clouds and be carried to far-away lands. Sometimes fantasy can make one's reality easier to swallow... When I am going through difficult times in my life, I become an avid cloud--and star--gazer. It takes me away from my problems--for awhile, anyway. EA, You are dog gone amazing (dog gone is a phrase I use when I can't use the word I want...(get it) LOL) You never miss, do you? I was asked to bring some of my poems to a functions last night for an impromptu reading. When I looked at what I wrote just a couple of months ago, I was so disappointed. Gee, I remembered them being so much better than they actually were. What does that mean? May be I am growing? And why I am bugging you with this? Sorry. The point is you never miss...perfection everytime. I love it! Patricia |

Patricia ~ --"dog gone amazing" sounds dog gone good to me! That's terrific that read your poetry at a function last evening! Don't worry about it not being as good as you had originally thought! That will always be the case. Writing is a growing process. That does, however, make question what I am posting now! I may be cringing when I read my present works, years down the road--but then again, that could be a good thing--because, like you said,I'd be growing! Take care sweetums! EA |

(kiss on cheek) I too love finding shapes and I love to dream and pretend I am up in the heavens and get to see all the beautiful things we dream yet to see everywhere in reality!
