There is a school of philosophy (who's name escapes me right now) that presents the theory of only one person who really exists. For example, I am the only real person here, and you all are just figments of my imagination and my unconscious. You all only exist in my head. Well, here's my question: (if this is true) If I got angry and shook my head violently to clear it, would you all fall down? -wen "I am everything you want I am everything you need. I am everything inside of you That you wish you could be I say all the right things At exactly the right time But I mean nothing to you And I don't know why." -"Everything You Want" Vertical Horizon |

No, we would not fall down, but you would get a whiplash. The reality is, that we are able to TOUCH each other, in mind and body, and that signifies our real existence. And then, we become memory, not just imagination. ......just my opinion. DH |

I think the term you want is solipsism. By the way, there is also the term multiple solipsism which Heinlein discussed in a lot of his later work (I think their are some Heinlein fans lurking around here somewhere.) Would people fall down? How do you do they didn't? Brad |
