. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D Is a dog capable of love? If yes, and love is the answer, (which seemed to be the message some two thousand years ago), then does Hachiko get to go to Paradise/Heaven as well?* Does it have to be "human" love and how is that distinquished? . (* If cats will allow it.) . |

Huan, think about these, There will be animals in Heaven. But will they be resurrected or freshly made? People will have new bodies, so the old dog may not recognize the old master. Do people eat in heaven? If so, One's pet may end up in other's plate. Animal is animal, up in heaven or down in this earth. Talking about "love" from a dog how you define the word of "love"? ---"Does it have to be "human" love and how is that distinquished?" Dog barks to air. Human barks to paper or screen. Instinctively, dogs bite & attack, especially when running in packs. It amazes me when they don't, and they end up rescuing us, leading us when we are sight impaired, protecting us when we are attacked by our own kind, and even mothering/looking after other living creatures as if there were no differences between them. I believe dogs love, and if someone seeks to harm me, I hope Thor loves me as much as I love him. As far as heaven? Who knows and who can say? |

John, It's a bit of a lengthy article, but one that you may find interesting. For a long time I've been interested in C.S. Lewis' quotes about animals sprinkled throughout his more popular works. Part of the interest for me, is that few others in Theological circles even consider the questions raised by animal existence. Lewis was an animal lover, and apparantly he gave quite a bit of thought about the very issues you raise. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3818/is_199801/ai_n8802633 Stephen |
