I never thought I was God's gift to begin with... "I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces." |

It might have had something to do with my mother's constant reminder that I was conceived six months before the birth control pill became available to the general public. Just a hunch.  |

Sigh. That's not a lesson taught by events, but rather a lie told by people too blind to see their own worth or that of those around them. Only when you start believing you having nothing to offer the world do you, indeed, have nothing to offer the world. I believe you are God's gift, unique and precious. |

Ah, but that's not "the" definition, is it, John? That's just the part you presumably liked. Besides, ego has nothing to do with your question, or rather, the only way to tie them together is to first accept your assumptions. Your creation, either divinely or earthly, predates your "sense of self" by some small months or years. |
