As morn lifts light, it is but one thought that awakens here To feel the fit and settled seas, arise and wake, a ship to steer As sacred as the blood that throbs a life emerging to be known This time prepares, traverse the stairs, in steps of all alone Recalled the first of love to leave, the breaking of this will A haunting that has hollowed out, was once a father still Attuned revisions came before his silenced thunderous hand Into the pooled decisions, that clears again each grain of sand And washed upon the spotless face unworthy of this love To find so many days a neutral lisp, unsaid in absence of Asleep against the reasons that would otherwise dispense This time prepares, traverse the stares, and all to be against As mourn lifts light, it is but once that lasted on through time That draws again the wounds that broke of reasons and of rhyme As sacred as the waterfalls that bring the surge to thirst Into the pool, my pallet fuel, and paint myself through first Copyright Kkh 4/26/03 |

Kathleen, I love the way you write. The rhyme in this poem is perfect and flows so easily. I especially liked this last verse. As mourn lifts light, it is but once that lasted on through time That draws again the wounds that broke of reasons and of rhyme As sacred as the waterfalls that bring the surge to thirst Into the pool, my pallet fuel, and paint myself through first Thank you for sharing.
