Theseus, once emperor of the realm. Destined the prize of shoes and sharpened sword as told before a chosen mother’s birth. A promise made from mystic spoken word before the desolate trek was walked upon the grounds of broken earth. Torn the ragged sandals, dull the once keen blade from countless battles fought and legions led. Worn the face once fierce, passionate and proud....now weary, old... banned for life, to darkest corners fled. Whisper thy name, Oh fleeting beauty Helen as gods will covet thee immortal. Till Aegeus rises from the churning depths of stormy blue and raging seas to knock upon the salt stained glass of one’s eye watched windward portal. My blood does to the ragged rocks bestow my love of thee, my solemn quest now ended. My heart once skipped in trilling beat of which your delicate hand outstretched, a gift once touched, extended. Gods told a story of a woman rare, who rose supreme, mythical Greek history, Sweet Helen from Troy.....most fair. A love sought through eons of time ....beyond his mortal death their destiny... |

I'm so glad Nightshade asks "why"... shall give thy pen more grist to fill... and when the answer comes to Sire... I'm sure thou pen shall thrill... |

Either I'm blind or I haven't seen you on the blue pages for awhile. Loved this return although between you and I, I always prefered Odyssey much better |

The face that launched a thousand ships, and words still cross the sea. Immortal beauty and pain. How passionate your current eye and write. So enjoyed. Sincerely, Reg |
