"We are the people we've been waiting for." June Jordan To my friends Opposers of War Lovers of Peace Hold your heads high Raise your voices to heaven Burn bonfires and light candles For the causalities of the human paranoia Say a prayer for freedom Jesus, Allah, Buddha, help us all We kill each other in your loving names We misrepresent the holiest of holys Peace, the biggest reason of war Yet the most against it Another deity misunderstood My comrades Don't fear Fear, the biggest slayer of freedom Is worthless to us We will die one day, accept it But our actions on this earth shall forever live on Leave your mark on the wall for all to see Be bold Be strong The oppressors are our brethen We will be mocked by our peers The Brave often are By those who are afraid Respect is more valuable when its granted by the the respectable Stay the course We will prevail |

Powerful speech, stirring words. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

I hope for there to be peace one day. Wonderful poem. I loved every word of it. Cold hands means a warm heart |

Compelling and idealistic words ... this is a terrific write... maybe one day we will have peace, or if the world is too screwed up in this lifetime to achieve it, maybe the next.. God bless, Mary Ann

Ohhh! Powerful and moving. This makes me BELIEVE while I read this. If only the world would follow the advice in this remarkable poem. Mike |

Inspiring words, unfortunately there will never be peace while there is various religions too many things to disagree on. I guess peace starts with one person though so ourselves should believe it possible. Julie [This message has been edited by whiskey (04-24-2003 09:23 PM).] |
