Final Goodbye April 23, 2003 Copyright 2003 Doug Pretorius Holding out for one last day, to whisper its precious end, before I leave the warmth of your side, my only and one true friend. The love we've shared was hard to give, for the trust and vulnerability required, but in the end it is worth the risk, to be filled with your heart's desire. I feel so lonely in this empty place, where your smile is only a dream, I miss your laughter and the touch of your hand, through your eyes my faith was redeemed. Now nothing seems real and nothing feels right, and I'm dead though still alive, I brush back your hair and leave a kiss on your cheek, and bid you my fairest goodbyes. |
