Dark days full of rage
someone must turn the page

Glimpse of light
passed by during our flight

Seeking sanctuary from the dogs of war
we are caught unable to hide anymore

Soldiers on a mission
now we are just wishing

That we find our way home
right now we are alone

Surrounded by strangers who smile
to our faces yet there seems to be danger

Loved and hated by the world we serve
some of us start to lose our nerve

Forgive us our debts we mean no harm
we do the job at the sound of the presidential alarm

We are also fathers and mothers
sons and daughters

We feel shame and pain however
in this endeavor justice will rain
