Hole

There's a hole in my soul
that the wind passes through.
A constant reminder,
of a love I once knew.

To whom I gave my heart
and my soul,
and all I got in return
was this gaping hole.

Now I am burdened
with a love that is lost.
I try to protect myself
no matter what the cost!

They say that time heals all scars,
that maybe so,
but does time have a plug
for the hole in my soul?

Very emotive poem. I'm sure though that this place will help. I've been away from here ever since I signed on and just finally came back in this last month and it's been great. Everyone's so helpful and encouraging and their critiques often help. I really have enjoyed being here and I'm positive you will too. And maybe you'll find a plug.
