Love Enough By Larry Chadwick How long will you remember, The essence of us you knew? Will you romanticize the thought, Or might you recall it accurate and true? How long will you remember, Of the love we shared and how? Will it mean as much to you then, As it appears to here and now? How long will you remember, The difference you made in my life? Will it matter as much to you, As it did to me, that you were my wife? How long will you remember, That we wanted children together? Will you continue to wonder, Of being my children’s mother? How long will you remember, That I wished our love had been first? Will you recall the pride I had in you, Enough to make my heart nearly burst? How long will you remember, That your happiness is most important of all? Will you recognize the satisfaction, Of just being able to recall? Remember long enough to not forget, That the memory will free you. Would that you will find the strength, To embrace a future that is knew. March 18, 2003 If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. [This message has been edited by Larry C (04-14-2003 10:59 PM).] |

This makes me proud to be a poet. Most men can't say these things, can't express the inner things that men are supposed to be numb to....but we can, and you've done it here so well. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I love it when men express themselves in this way. The truth is we (women) do not know oftentimes that men do think and feel what you have expressed here. Thank you for reminding and enlightening us! -Patricia |

Janette, Well...such kind words. Thank you so much. I was reflecting on what it has been like for my mother to be without my father. And it seemed natural to think about my Nancy without me. And the thoughts just poured out. Bill, Thank you for your faithfulness and kind words. Sorry I haven't been around more. I love your romantic take on life. Kit, How tender hearted you are. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Peace... If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
