Listening to every heart

The Waltz of Time

It came about so quick, and clear
Reasons why you wanted me near,
For I could waltz the night with you,
To violin, or hummed voices, two…

Then you said, “Please marry me,
We’ll climb the mountains, swim the seas,”
I nodded yes, I would not be false,
Then we danced the Wedding Waltz….

~*~

Time was swift, carried into view
Seasons’ shift, till naught was new
Though one thing sure, in this romance,
Each new eve, the Waltz was danced…

You aged quite well, and I, of course,
Grew graceful wrinkles at gravity’s force,
Our hair now sprinkled well with gray,
Yet we waltzed with time each day…

~*~

Then one day, some fifty years
As memories are now more than clear
I danced the Anniversary Waltz with you,
It kept so close, this love of two…

Now your hand lies cold and chill
Though in my heart, humming still,
Are strains of the Waltz that we danced,
And two lovers, who took a chance…

~*~

Who dared to dance as only lovers do,
Who stepped with time, in their Waltz of Two

Examples abound today of the mighty force of your pen.  Did I tell you?  I want to be just like you when I grow up!

Nothing is quite as sweet as a long experienced love nor as sad at the chill of time.  KJ

Nothing is as beautiful as to waltz through life with your own true love.
This is a keeper Karilea...a treasure for my library.

I am so sincerely, and deeply, affected by your words. My eyes literally misted and I am filled with emotion..... This now has a home in a special place in my inner sanctum sanctorum. Thank you, Karilea.

Loving, warm embrace,

Karilea, it is so nice to hear a tribute such as this, of how wonderful, the life long unity of love can be. Thanks for the poem, to be sure.

But for actually living such a life, and being a shining example of true love. Well for that, your thanks can be in knowing that your life has exemplified the embodiment of commitment, and of harmonious contentedness.

That others too, can look to, for hope in their own aspirations, of marital bliss.

An amazing write

And Karilea, your picture looks simply wonderful!

Thanks Dixie, for bumping this up

Take Great Care,

Richy
