As shadows slip
down weeping walls,
in shadows dark I cower.
I sink to depths,
not known before,
in this my darkest hour.

Has Light of God
abandoned me,
and banished me to Hell?
No longer can,
I hear the sounds,
Of Heaven's tolling Bell.

Demons yowl,
and wrench and yank,
at this, my vanquished soul.
My seeping blood,
stains tattered veils,
as Evil takes its toll.

A brilliant Light
lit up the cell, of this,
my sinner's prison.
An angel spoke,
right to my heart,
"Your soul will soon be risen."

"How can that be?
For I have sinned,
and turned my back on God.
I lived my life
for no one else,
and tromped on sinking sod."

"Fear not your death,
for it will bring,
about a new rebirth.
So you may spread
the Words of God,
on Love and Joy and Mirth!"
