flipping through five pages
of the same picture
seen through barely different filters
I see the edges of my upturned mouth
and think,
'I like the photo best,                
where I am barely a blur'
only shapes and shadows
and my soul-self is as hidden as my face

Thanks for the replies, both of you.

I actually wrote this after applying different filters in a photoshop program to pics I had scanned. The same picture seen thru a gradient filter or rendered a charcoal sketch just created so many words in me. A single image repeated over and over, yet different every time...
I'm sure you poetic people understand...
