 . . . My house is in such disarray I wonder will there come a day When I can sit in calm repose Without sawdust settling on my nose. When silence is the sound I hear And not the nail gun hammering in my ear. When lilac is the scent I smell Not the putrid, verathane gunk from hell. I crave the day with my muse I will linger Instead of plucking slivers from my finger. When hubby asks me for a kiss Not just to pass him that or this. Take away the ladders, tools and brooms So that I might find my computer room ! Oh, give me back my pleasant shelter Before in the streets I run helter skelter !! . . . . Chris Barker June 2003 ~~ |

Oh, Chris, I've been there many times with my husband doing the work and hiring a construction crew. Both are extremely unpleasant until it's all done and beautiful. Then the mess disappears from your mind until you decide to do another project!! Hugs and loved this ... Marti |

Thankyou friends....and my dear sister. It has been over two months now that the construction has been going on.....inside and out! I guess I am going a little nutty with everything all over the place and nothing in it's place...lol. I am proud to say that I have worked hard to help out...and really...I guess it hasn't been all that bad.  |

Clever write Chris, sounds like you're doing some remodeling, or is that his job? I can imagine it is stressful, but I would give anything to add a couple more square feet. Heck, what's a couple splinters.Hang in there girl and reap the rewards. |

Thankyou lady poets three !! Blues - I have been right in there with the fellas. Yup....splinters, sawdust, clearing fumes and all. It is taking forever it seems, but it's been an experience seeing it from start to finish - whenever that might be!! |
