They mock me, in my pathetic endeavors to become one with them. Maybe on a day when lightening rips open the sky and we stand there together, both helpless victims of our fate. Today the sky is blank, bland as unflavored milk. They stand, still and aloof, in assembly lines of cardboard cookie cut-outs, And parallel the sunday drive, of pointless cars and thoughts on miles and miles of highway to nowhere. Without expression or empathy, they are both hypnotic and awakening reminding me of my insignificance. [This message has been edited by inkedgoddess (06-07-2003 08:04 PM).] |
