All along the rose of evening bounced the sounds of last runs from those round legged monsters carrying the cut flesh of pine and oak down slashed trails that wound up in bounce just wide enough you could catch the edges if you went slow... Thick the run of sap still bleeding from cut stump to perfume the hot still of July so that even stars were sticky as we lay in watch for dawn. I did not feel death then as I do now so we rolled our night in twisted legs thinking of birth and not destruction until until the sunrise brought sepia light and first run began. Today, I realized I also ran clear cuts creating my own eroded scars |

This is so sad. Yet I really enjoyed it. Cold hands means a warm heart |

"I did not feel death then as I do now" When, do you suppose, does this happen? I doubt that it is at the same time for each person. I DO know about this! Ish |

Ish...it happens when we find the truth of it looming so much larger than our ego telling us we are invincible...and we can no longer deny it. As in all things... truth and insight comes in many forms and in many ways.. thanks for dropping in..and the comment, appreciated. |

Today, I realized I also ran clear cuts creating my own eroded scars ~*~ Retrospect... isn't it grand... you bring me back to Bear Mountain, '62, shades of slender legs in loamy fill seedlings in hand seeding ground only to be taken, later, in the summer of '02... when the ash wafted down to be taken by the Santa Ana Winds.... |

Thick the run of sap still bleeding from cut stump to perfume the hot still of July so that even stars were sticky as we lay in watch for dawn. Now, Capt. Ron, you know that I'm going to find some romance in everything, almost. Now, all kinds of romantic thoughts went through this hopeless romantic when I read this part. Man, I think my mind may be getting kinda warped...but that's okay, too...it feels good. You know that I think all your writing is brilliant, don't you? (smiling) Ethel... you are far too kind to me... but I thank you for that... there is something romantic in that and in the whole piece if you see it... so the fact you make or see the romantic side of it is a compliment indeed.. thank you |
