Do you know the time of night,
just before the dawn,
when light of day has yet to touch,
upon a dew filled lawn?
No song of bird to yet awaken,
blossoms of the rose,
As creatures of the dark all pause,
in wait for night's repose?
Amid the calm of stillest hour,
a hush and nothing more,
A time when light of stars descend,
from their perch on heaven's floor,
And meld with rays of rising sun,
To light the light of perfect hour,
When day and night are one.

I love dawn....and the time just before it....now too bad I never wake up in time to see them, but I saw them here. Thank you Tim!

Your images are spectacularly vivid.  This is truly art at its best.  I love this hour---when day and night are one.

Absolutely perfect...that's all I can say

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Yes!  When day and night are one.  Wonderful imagery.  And then don't you just love that first bird chirp or frog croak?  Suggesting to the others, it's time to wake up.  I like your poem, thank you for sharing.

Dawn is the hour of true magic that "resonates" in the stillness and you captured it beautifully.
A poem that transmits PURITY and PEACE.
