Observations

A salamander or gecko
Witch it was I do not know
Seemed to have prodigious strength though
I saw no muscles in his length.

He leaped or flew from wall to floor
It seemed to me three yards or more
And ran along the ground so fast
Not a shadow did he cast?

And when he stopped he stood like dead
Beneath his neck a flag of red
That seemed to wave some unknown foe
Or a lady I do not know

His legs were thin his body slim
His face a grin it seemed all brim
He sport a tale of super bail
That he could drop if all else failed

A miracle of adaptation
An answer to his salvation

Did Balladeer 'pest control' your house?...I understand he hires a bunch of those young Cuban kids with fly swatters and then lets a bunch of frogs and lizards loose in folk's houses...

Nan, I sure do hope they're not in
my neck of the woods in Florida.

Good write, Seymour.  You just keep them
where you're at. Okay?   LOL

I used to collect lizards as a tom-boy...and horned toads, but I steered clear of the scorpions that sometimes appeared from nowhere...

but now?  I'll watch them on Discovery, thank you...or perhaps at your house, if I ever get down that way.  Does Isabelle tell you to take them outside?  I'll bet she does!

Hugs to you both!

Leapin' Lizards!!!! What a way to start your morning. Maybe it just wanted to sit and have you recite some of your wonderful poetry with a tiny cup of tea? Awwww...poor little thing. Seymour, kindly give it a crumb of your apple turnover. Who knows...it just might be the spirit of some famous poet, smiling at your accomplishments! hugs to you for this write. Chris

Mornin' Mr. T.!

I must admit that not all of God's creatures make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside as do kittens! ---but they all have their part to play in our world!

Great powers of observation, dear poet!

LOL... Just last night, my sister was telling me about the bug-catching prowness of the lizards on her patio... they avoid my place like the plague or become cat toys. *G*

I enjoyed this observation very much, Seymour... thanks for sharing!! *S*

And I'm so sorry this Florida excursion didn't include a Seymour hug... tell Isabel hi for me! *S*
