"Sleep "

Clock it ticks a deathly sound
Night with darkenss all around
I sit inside my vacant mind
Passing thoughts of other time
Sleep it does evade me now
Never do I feel allowed
To close my eyes in silence fair
Instead my eyes in frozen stare
Tiredness creeps upon my lone
My life inside my holy stone
To close my mind is what I wish
To get to sleep with not a glitch
Awake within a fresh new morn
Without the feeling of withdrawn
No help, no pill, no things to cure
The lack of sleep the nights allure
So if in dark you are awake
Think of me and light it take
Dream of wonderful things to share
Awake in morn without a care

"Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened. "

(sigh) Oh Julie, I usually go to bed around 2-3 in the morning and wake up in the late morning because I have a hatred of the darkness from my boyhood when I had nightmares all the time and had seizures and remember many sirens flashing from abulances! (sad sigh) But every time I do go to sleep, I think of my dream girl I long to meet and it makes me dream sweet dreams, yay, this is lovely, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Julie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Julie,

I have many sleepless nights.  If it is not my own worry and stress, then it is my little one who, just like me as a child, never wants to sleep.  She is very active.

Sometimes I pray for rest and it helps.

I can relate to your verse very well.  And you expressed superbly.

Patricia

AAWWW, isn't that a sweet reply that Barry made?  Singing "Rock a by Baby".

This is a good poem, Julie. I really liked
this ending.....

So if in dark you are awake
Think of me and light it take
Dream of wonderful things to share
Awake in morn without a care

If you ever find out just exactly how to do that then I'll take 100 bottles of those sleeping methods....I know I know, no pills   but try and bottle it anyway if you find the solution....Have a good one

ZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzz...

SNNnnnooorre...!!!!

Huh?!

Oh Sorry Julie... that lullaby Barry was singing made me nod off for forty winks...

Ahhh (yawn)... I’m much better now (stretch)...

How ‘bout you? Did it lull you to sleep?

Oh darn!

Hey, I know?  Read one of my poems, that’ll knock you out, right quick, and in a hurry!

yuk yuk

Sorry...

???

Have you tried drinking a glass of warm milk?

Yeah, I know, who likes warm milk?

Well, except for a baby, of course...

Hey, how is the baby doing?

Well, actually, if you put some Nestle’s Quick in it... it aint so bad...

I’m back on the warm milk, again...

Have you tried breathing into a paper sack?

Oh wait... I think that’s for hiccups...

How about drinking a glass of water, backwards?

Wait... hiccups again?

Hey... you don’t have the hiccups by chance?

No?

OH!

Just checking... cause if you did... I’d be the guy to call...

Well Julie, I hope you get some rest tonight...

Oh, and hey... if for some reason,  you still can’t sleep... and, also get the hiccups...

Try drinking some warm milk, backwards...

!

Yeah...

Oh, and don’t forget the Nestles...

Hey, where is my Nestles? ... now I can’t sleep...

Dang it!

I’m outta milk again...

Sheeeesh!
Oh... I almost forgot...

Great poem Julie!

Great images!

I do not sleep much, and probably less than I should.  Sometimes I feel like the Steve McQueen character in "The Great Escape" where he is sitting in his cell bouncing a baseball against the wall; I sit inside my skull and bounce ideas off the inside of my head.

Maybe tonight w'll sleep!?!?

in dreams, i will come to you,
to take you with me, to slumber the whole night through.

soft light will surround you in dreams,
lightly flowing water of streams.

Come into my world of repose,
be 'the dreamer', with me goldenrose.

you will dream again soon,
under the velvety sky, stars and moon.

Great write, thank you...rose.
