Tranquility, love’s common thread
Held by supple hands,
As Sapphirus fills her heart
for wicked impulse, or an impure thought
are quelled at such stone’s mercy,
As life from skies in rest, impart, for

Upon her breast,

Bluest sapphire, gem upon ivory skin
Held by thin and supple
Silver chain
Fast upon such thread of love
Her heart beats tame,
For intelligence, wisdom, prophecy,
Faith and hope
She would claim

Darkest blue in sapphire eyes
That only he might tame

No argument in life, you see, when held by pure blue flame.
