If, for a moment,
I were to gently touch
your softly agile fingers
or hold your sensually
reserved hand,
a million slivers
of glass would
explode,
destroying what I believe
to be an iron-cast image,
presenting a newly realized,
painfully tempting,
truth
Instead, I will pause
in quiet awe,
as your tender hand
remains only at arms length
of my wistfully, fanciful
touch.

Make your words as sweet as honey, someday you may have to eat them.

Sometimes the constraints of society makes us too reserved, but I suppose we have no choice.

A beautiful poem full of feeling.

Sometimes all you can do to protect yourself and the other's space is to look and not touch. Sad, but it's true in so many situations.
This is a very well written tender write. I look forward to more from your pen. And the pen name is truthful, a poet dreams (sometimes those dreams aren't so much fun though).
