Today's Canadian mind is on the mad cow disease and how a once innocuous virus can take victims... if one peruses through the shelves of books for symtoms today's modern mind pays more to feel ill at ease if you please...I've heard enough of deadly spores seen enough discontinued volumes on creaky floors but my mind has been honed in the mold of consumer to pull from the shelves...fight the onus of loser continue to fill pockets of other men... sounds like civil disobedience towards myself but I'll go through the pay your debt motions fix incantations and anti-depressive potions the one at the very top could not care less learn to reflect on my volume rich mess it's time to write independent versions free of the bacterial spores that hits the news free of the knobby knees that lined creaky pews I continue to fill the pockets of other men sure to reach my goal at the end of the bend will hear about west nile disease enough is enough..will you please free to espouse the benefits of life here free of spores and mad cow disease fear [This message has been edited by ecrivan (05-26-2003 08:50 PM).] |

(big hugggsssssssss) I hate it when that happens too, here I am an American and this is an issue I feel very strongly about! Just a few years ago, we were so very worried about the foot-and-mouth disease destroying livestock, now we push it aside like it's no problem and wait till a mass numer of people suffer elsewhere until we go back to step one! (sad sigh) It is disturbing and I only wish this issue can get just as much focus as AIDS and SARS are getting, as every disease is a concern, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story |

No Raph, haven't forgotten that the real disease of the day is our tendency to sensationalize..and that's the undercurrent message here for all of us.Thanks for sharing |

Hey Noah, a certain amount of coverage by the media should be informative but regarding Sars that brought the WHO to popularize a very limited outbreak..and it's limited to some health care centres in Toronto..so I don't think that coverage is a good example for you..getting the major airports to do checks on people coming from high incidence countries would have been more appropriate. No I know you haven't forgotten about sars but that is my point who would let you forget. I think there's an image of Toronto being a deathtrap where people walk around in gowns and masks..it's so utterly silly and I'm quite tired of it. I'm going to go down to chinatown(asians have been targetted or blamed and business is suffering) and see if I can get some prime beef at the same time. |

it's amazing the impact the news can have on our minds. it can send us into panic, ruin a day, or give us hope. Good portrayal... Failure isn't failure if a lesson from it is learned ~ KS |

Raph, I had some noodles and beef at my favorite oriental food chain too in Montreal on the weekend...look the fact that the culprit cow died in Januar and we here about it in May....that itself is criminal not the meat... Earth Angel, if there isn't an issue..won't certain people go to any extent to make one??...how many times will this ring true. [This message has been edited by ecrivan (05-27-2003 08:13 PM).] |

Midnite, My thoughts are with the poor blokes who had contact with the cow directly or indirectly in an industry already riddled with setbacks like lack of grazing land. Ethome just being me...thanks for reading Kristie, even though I write freelance myself I am so much aware of the impact that undo negativity can do on the public...and the economy suffers in the end as does our morale.
