Scrambled Egg

Sometimes I cry out
when all the king’s men walk by,
though no one cares to listen
to a soul half-cracked,
boiled spoiled by the cruel sun.

Alas, another sunset goes by
to black the sky with nameless stars,
still, I make a wish for a prince
who ends up horseless
and refuses to ask for directions -
a frog beneath impending kiss.

Here I sit, loveless, wallbound,
hope in wait, tear in hand,
falling to split in two.
Jagged pieces of me
cut to the bone, slice me alone
to ho-hum the hours, splattered
of brick flesh walls that protect and curse
the yoke-stained ground of broken breath.

How I long to be served on a plate
with heart still in beat,
dined and wined with worth
by lips that understand my flavour
in savour of a happy ending.

Sad, how fate arrives too late
with footprints across this shell of skin.
I am dead parts, scrambled egg, devoured dreams
for all the king’s men,
unwilling to put my heart
together again.

Melissa,
You sadden my heart with this lonely write.
It stays like a pearl in an oyster.

Beautifully written, yet hauntingly sad Melissa.
Hope all is well with you.

Humpty dumpty sat on a wall.  Humpty dumpty had a great fall.  All the kings horses and all the kings men.  Couldn't put humpty together again.

Sweet Honeybee, your words and your photo are incongruous. Here you are, a very beautiful young woman--a princess beyond compare---and a worthy prince has not yet vied for your heart? Trust the universe, he will find you in divine time.

This was a very well-written piece of writing, but it made me want to jump into the sea of blue and surround you lovingly with my "wings" (arms to we real humans!)

Warm hugs,
Linda

This is written very beautifully, even
though it is sad. I enjoyed reading it.

Very interesting take on Humpty Dumpty. Sometimes people are so unwilling to help. I liked it a lot. Nice pic too!

Amazingly, sadly, beautifully wonderful

(big hugggssssssss) Perhaps it isn't you at all, it's all the kings men, and I think you have been hanging around with the wrong royal adversaries! (sad sigh) Have the king hire simply that prince, hat is all that really matters, God Bless You, you will find him soon enough, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Melissa, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
