It takes no great boldness just a coldness,
To walk these streets in hours of darkness.
To stride over the well broken concrete
That runs beside the forgotten old street
There will be no repair for this byway
Monies will be spent on super highway
Where those fancy cars with their suits inside
Demand a smoother and a gentle ride
And care not for those that move on leather
Protected not by steel from the weather
They care not to go off from the fast lane
Seeing nothing there’s nothing to explain
They look not beyond the speeding headlights
To see those that walk in the rainy nights.

Hi Gloomy

It's been a while since I've read your words. I see you're still amongst the shadows, only now your walking in them. Enjoyed the read of this.

Your attention to detail is so often overlooked PG. I find myself breaking down the words to study the construction, because like a well built house, the strength of your work is so often overwhelmed by the beauty.

I leave, both impressed and moved...

smooth.

I'm with you in the rainy nights, Gloom.
I wish it were raining here, tonight.

awesome write, gloom
I loved the leather imagery, the seat versus the shoes; the side roads and alleyways compared to the fast lane...

enjoyed the detail, precision, imagery, the insight
