Universal glitch

this way
says the signpost
pointing downhill
exactly at a time
when I want to go
up the  hill
knowing very well
going up the hill
is like trying to throw
a pebble at the rock
and hoping
it would crumble --
the rock that is!

and yet
I seem to like the challenge
of running up the hill
however exhausted
I find myself
on reaching the top

exhilarating
it should be
I hoped
to howl at the clouds
from close quarters

keep left
says the street sign
when the heart knows
love is always right

and even logic knows
that I want to follow
LOVE

for-love, right? wrong!

look before you cross
said the billboard
and I looked around
to find a beautiful face
in the crowd
deep blue eyes,
ocean-like --
Maldives or Bahamas --
hair reddish-brown and curly
with the tip of hair
brushing
pouting lips
sending me in wild spins
of wild-fire flames
like flickering fireflies
in the middle of a
summer night

just before
breaking my nose
on the crowded mass
of the cold lamppost

the pebble at the rock
the pebble crumbled!

Gosh almighty! Can you ever write! You had me coming and going all over the place! A dynamite of a write--a fascinating read!

Sudhir, what a magnificent poem!! This one
has some of all in it...wisdom, romance, and humor.
I had my reply gathering in my head until I got tickled
when I came to this part.  LOL

just before
breaking my nose
on the crowded mass
of the cold lamppost

I thought it had turned into a poem of romance.
This is a delight, Sudhir.
Hugs,
Ethel

he he... this was fun to write... just came out... did not know what will come out of it... just kept typing furiously and out came an image quickly followed by another ... till it all crumbled... it even seems a wise write.. right?

glad you all liked...

thanks a lot,
regards
sudhir

LOL... I guess I'd better watch where I'm going. I don't think I want to break my nose walking into a lampost while looking before crossing!

Hey, Sudhir, this is really excellent writing! I like the way you connected the phrases the way you did...you have grown and keep growing!

Reminds me of the line in Don Quixote - "Whether the rock hits the pitcher or the pitcher hits the rock, it's bad news for the pitcher!"

BRAVO!!! Oh Sudhir, this is wonderful, sweet friend, normally I think we should always break the rules when we can but yes, it helps to look both ways wherever you go so you don't miss that smile that may be right around the corner! (big hugggsssssss) This is very moving, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
