bare fingered trees thrust their pregnant limbs upward black ink lines against horizon's blue backdrop buds eager to be birthed into green leaves uncurling on soft breezes bouncing into the air to the song of a robin twittering plans for this year's home squirrels scurring about sleek after the long winter's sleep all nature yawns stretches then goes about the business of birthing new life everywhere |
