Distant Heart Through the twilight shadows sleeping, Thy voice sings sweetly as the lark, Luring me with the beauty of thy spirit, My heart left joyous by your mark: Oh, love! That gentle beast that tames me, Hath pierced thy name unto mine errant mind, Taketh my soul to lands undiscovered, Where Passion's revelation I doeth find. Oh, Tash! Thou protest thou art nothing special, And the lonesome miles cruelly keep us apart, But the veritable splendour of thy being, Is still cherished by this distant heart... This is the first poem I have ever published on the web and I was kind of wondering what you guys thought of it. Is it any good? I like the style of the classic love poems such as Lovecraft and so I wrote it in that kind of style. I have published it on another poetry website and am hoping it will make Poem of the Week. If you would like to vote for it, here's the url: http://www.lovepoetscafe.net/cgi-bin/search.pl?action=read&keyword=8612577&pword=public |

the familiar theme of long distance love...two people in love but apart...written very well. I enjoyed this. Welcome to Passions! Do share more, and enjoy all of our writings as well. |

(smiles) Yay!!! And I can see very well why it got published and achieved that honor, because this truly is a gem with the classical chivalrous romantic spirit shining within! This is a marvelous debut, sweet friend, you are most deserving of these merits, I love it! Welcome to Passions, sweet Darcy, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! Thanks guys, you are very kind! Actually, Mistletoe Angel, it hasn't won Poem of the Week yet, the contest hasn't finished! But I'd be honoured and very, very grateful if any of you guys would kindly vote for it. The girl it is written for, Natasha, hasn't seen it yet. And it would be so cool if I could show it to her and then say it had won a contest! She would be thrilled! So, please, PLEASE, vote and make the girl of my dreams very happy.... http://www.lovepoetscafe.net/cgi-bin/search.pl?action=read&keyword=8612577&pword=public |
