The country stand was on a country lane, Constructed in fashion sturdy but plain, Yet dazzle by the moment just gone by All became fancy seen with inner eye; Her dust had settled when I reached my car, Time had passed and she must have driven far. White Corvette you carried beauty away Memories set you have lighten my day. I drove off down paths in forest shadow Beside fenced green fields and wandering streams, The fragrant air swept in through my window Slowly motored between the real and dreams. Her eyes, smile, and voice in my thoughts did blend, I saw her white Vette parked at the next bend. Beside the road and beside a bridged stream, The car was there and she had gone away, So I parked behind it to find this dream, Vividly real this dream in the midday. Slowly savoring I fought not to rush As I followed a path through the lush brush. ~~To be continued~ Gloom |
