No Longer the Same
By Larry Chadwick
In tender memory of the loss of  Ginger Michelle
on May 18, 2002

It’s through a tinted lens that now I see,
Changing what life has now come to be.
Not better, but a different kind of place,
One that requires just a touch of grace.

Because now at the mention of a name,
A reminder, things are no longer same.
How could life be altered so much,
From the loss of a loving touch?

Pleasures now found in an altered way,
Not based alone in the chance to play.
But recognizing the fellowship of pain,
Offering solace and not expecting gain.

Satisfaction taken from memories past,
Knowing there was enough to last.
The price of giving your heart away,
To reclaim again in that eternal day.

May 15, 2003

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

there is so much I could say to this, as it made me feel so much and touched places deep...but then I know that you already know.
I take solace and find quiet comfort in knowing if we must "know" ... we are in good company.

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

This is,  and you are,  in a class by yourself, Larry Dear~
Your writing makes me feel for you.
I am forever grateful to call you my friend,
for they are so far and few between...
and I will always consider myself the lucky one.

Hugs, Dear Larry~

QjQ,
Thank you for your kindness.

JM,
Before I joined the "fellowship of pain" I felt a connection with you through your writing. But what I thought I understood in your writing I see more clearly now with the "tinted lens". You mean so very much to me...

Kacy,
Sunday is one year. I will be in Sedona doing the same. A candle at the
chapel on the rock . Thank you for always being there...

Lori,
There must be a club of "Lucky Ones" because I feel like I'm a memeber too. Bless you for your tenderness. I am truly okay, changed but okay.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry...those tinted lenses....
I call em butterfly glasses.

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme ...
they are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
forgiveness and understanding ...
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

h,
I looked at that veiled moon tonight and found comfort in sharing it with you. You're the best, thank you for that.

JM,
More wisdom to tuck in my scrapbook. How can life be hard with a friend like you. Thank you again.

Larry-
Your words are amazing Larry! You are fortis et fideliter (Bold and Faithful) I see you as a light house.

Its been a year almost now, and they days are getting rougher, but you are amazing as I see where Miss. Chadwick got her amazing gentleness and loving character. I love you both. If you need someone to talk to, I am here.

Love you lots! oh, and
Can I read this on the 30th at the memorial?

Larry...Such a beautiful and loving tribute to the daughter that you lost. Being a mother whose child is now in harm's way in Iraq...I can only imagine the pain of losing that precious son that has blessed my life. You will see her once again on Heaven's shores; yet, as you so lovingly wrote, you have all those precious and wonderful memories of her to hold in your heart against that day. My prayers are with you and your family.

Larry, that last stanza is excellent. Always have hope, because someday we will all be together again.

I pray that you will be comforted as the first anniversary of your daughter's "journey to the sunrise" approaches. May God bless you, as your poetry has been a blessing to us.

Kellie,
It has indeed been a pleasure to have you in my life and to know of your affection for my daughter. Thank you for your kindnesses. And certainly you may read this at her memorial. Any chance that the service can be video taped?

Jason,
Thank you. I'm biased but she was indeed beautiful inside and out.

Ivy Rose,
I can't imagine the stress of your son's being in Iraq. And thank you for your prayers and kindness. It will be a wonderful reunion indeed.

Dixie,
Thank you it is appreciated.

Nan,
Thank you for being such a faithful friend. Your support has been so healing for me.

El Campeador,
Thank you for such kindnesses. Please know that my faith is strong and that my heart though broken has been put back together again. Largely because of the support of friends like you. Caring matters more than I knew. Until that day...

vandana,
You have been so faithful to me. Thank you for that.

Chris,
Your tender vulnerability has always touched me deep in my heart. Thank you so much for being there.

M,
You know you were first that I communicated with by email here at Passions. Your candor and life's experience touched me deeply. It has thrilled me so to watch you blossom. Bless you sweet lady for you undying belief in the goodness of life.

Linda,
I truly don't know what to do with such generosity. For I truly have received so much from these blue pages. Thank you Linda and know how much your loving heart shines in your poetry and responses. Thank you.

Hope,
Thank you for sharing as it does matter.

James,
One of my favorite die hard romantics. I do so value your responses. Thank you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry,
I thought you got struck in Prose and didn't know how to come back

But recognizing the fellowship of pain,
Offering solace and not expecting gain

These two lines strike me the most..heart hugs, friend

El Campeador,
You do indeed humble me. Thank you for your graciousness...

My dear Muys,
Thank you for your motherly love and faithfulness. You do warm my heart consistently.

kaile,
I must confess to enjoying prose immensely these days. But mostly my muse refuses to rhyme and mostly sucks at free verse! Thank you again.

Michael,
Life is truly an amazing experience. I'm so glad that you were a part of this last year. Thank you for your kindnesses.

Thanks Melissa,
Would you be my manager too! You are so appreciated.

Ethel,
Those thoughts and prayers have provided much strength. More than I could ever have imagined. Thank you sweet friend.

Kellie,
Yes, the one disappointment I have is little access to her grave site. Thank you for being there.

Dark Angel,
That is very thoughtful of you and much appreciated.
