   Of Laura's Song

And the music takes me    takes me

until the darning of your leaf
is to my air
the song of Laura
touching me there
with tears           caught in fold
though my face     not actress wed to role

still the music takes me      takes me

(somewhere cold and spirit colored where she flew
to Zhivago   only a romantic movie   true)

across the meadow of my mind
to fly to you
with my song
made from wind
              and sun
                      and thinning skin

only wanting here    to be wrapped in you
hovering to touch you with the weight of feel
the midnight day of you on the slope of my skin
sliding then into a love          not film but real

I knew the moment I saw the title
that this had Zhivago written all over it!
There is nothing better than Lara's Theme...
and it's been a while since I've heard it...
but here it is...
in Martie's splendor!

Thank you!

SPLENDID..... OH YES!!!
*sighing here*
lovely...lovely..lovely.

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

You do well to speak of yourself as a song, because that is what you show yourself to be here. Every poem of yours sings, and this may be the clearest yet. We're lucky to have you, Martie, and if the subject of this song is real not whimsey, that one is luckier still than we are.

Martie, The title brought me in and this makes me feel as though I'm floating in a bubble.

Your poems are always loving, lovely and so heartwarming.

I didn't know my eyes could hear... but reading your words, they do... and the melody is even more beautiful presented through your pen. *S*

(sigh) Good God, I think I was eleven the last time I heard that theme, time to get back in that rentaling phase, hockey playpffs are consuming TV time! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
