“ANOTHER SHOOFLY JUNCTION HAPPENING by Bill Charles ~~~~ I went to college for the first time near Shoofly Junction and didn’t know if I was to study or do all the other things that came with it at the time, like playing guitar with a bar band until the wee hours of the morning, drinking that heavenly moonshine until we weren’t sure if the dance floor was on the stage or down on the floor in front of it, heck we didn’t care, couldn’t see nothing anyway… Met Big Bubba Jackson there one night with his sister, little May Lou Betty Lynn Jackson, had some cute names they did, she sure was looking good standing there in tight jeans, with that long hair flowing down her back, and goodness, those big brown bedroom eyes, I thought, ‘Where did she come from and all,’ the problem was I couldn’t get to her cause I was playing on that guitar with the band and couldn’t see that far anyhow, remember… So I came down from that stage and just started to dance with her and my guitar all at the same time, well need I say I was in love in an instant when I got up close and took a good look at those big brown sexy bedroom eyes, well the hormones, h’mmmm, just started rushing with a flush… So it was, so it shall be that Big Bubba, you do remember I mentioned him at the start, well all 300 lbs of him came over and looked at me with a frightful stare, and I just said ‘Hi Bubba, mighty fine looking sister you have here,’ well to make a long story short, me and MLBLJ scooted out the back door after the bar closed, and indeed she did have the sexiest bedroom eyes for real I had ever seen, that is up to that moment in time; ok just ask me then, anyway we were together for a while, know what I mean, I mean ‘TOGETHER’, I heard that Big Bubba was looking for me for a long time, probably just wanted to say hello I guess, anyway, just another happening with someone I knew down around that place called Shoofly Junction… ~~~~ |

 (smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is sooooooo cute, sweet friend, I am sure all he wanted to do was say Hi and to say how you were the perfect gentleman to make his sister happy forever! Bill...Very enjoyable poem. Loved the part about 300 lb Bubba looking for you after you bedded down his brown-eyed sister. She must have been worth it or, at least, I hope she was. Would loved to hear you play your guitar, though. That must be why you love the blues. LOL ***Ivy Rose |
