Alone in this world, as she looks into space The anguish shows clearly in her drawn face Her gown embroidered with lace and gems As she floats along, not knowing where she will end Her life has been troubled, she has traveled far The wounds on her mind, the scars in her heart But never once has she given up or lost hope For she has learned in this life, how to cope The riverbank has a sweet lilac scent As she approaches a turn just ahead The sunset comes clearly into the view As her heart is filled with thoughts so true All that she owns she carries on her canoe As she paddles along an enjoys the scenic view The tears come as she sits by candlelight As she stares into the lover’s moonlight Is he out there looking for me? Can it possibly be? That he feels the loneliness inside me And that I am the woman of his dreams Come to me and fulfill my needs Let me feel love burning inside of me Touch me and give me sweet release Come out of my dreams and give my heart peace! |

Wow....A longing I know so well....you are so wonderfully descriptive in this piece. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, for it's simplicity, and for the images it conjures in the mind...thankyou for sharing |
