Starts with a gentle cry Slowly growing with distress Mother knows the cry Knows too well what it means And she holds him close Til he falls asleep With the one you love Beat's strong in your heart Beauty radiates from your eyes Love without words And I hold you close Til you fall asleep Seems life is the same In spite of age A theme always runs through From the moment Out of the womb Til we fade to dust Time nearly through Family around Tears down the cheek Remembering a life well spent And you hold me close Til I fall asleep For the last time |

Ah, I really like this. I almost wrote one very much like this starting with my redheaded temper tantrumed grandson who put laid his head on my shoulder and fell asleep after coming to me with a split lip....and it does one way or another, carry on throughout life....holding each other....
