Here I sit amazed at what you say out loud knowing better then to believe you for you are not a weed waiting to be uprooted but a rose of truth and virtue A gem hidden in the gravel only waiting to be found no need to be polished for your beauty sets the standard Will you not understand? I see the facts that are at hand someone else may have convinced you that you’re the ugly duckling But I have heard you sing and know that you are a bird of unimagined beauty glistening for all to see I am not alone in my opinion for the truth speaks to all who have heard your words you and you alone have what it takes to make men stop in there tracks So please do not play the role of Helen of Troy for she is a tragedy of war where you are inspiration of love Now that I have spoken I will rest my argument and stop to smell the rose and admire the gem while I listen for your next song hopefully about love and not what you do wrong |

Thomas, this is really beautiful. And, I feel so much compassion wrote in this verse.... Now that I have spoken I will rest my argument and stop to smell the rose and admire the gem while I listen for your next song hopefully about love and not what you do wrong So beautiful.... Hugs, Ethel |
