I Stand

In my weakness I gain my strength;
Under darkness do I cherish light.
And in the midst of your oppression
Do I stand strong.

From the tempest I find my peace,
And after the chaos is my enlightenment.
Scare me all you want, but
I stand undaunted.

With the forsaken I show hope;
Through the pain shines my joy.
Burdened and caged,
I shall still stand free.

But play my love and I shall die,
Strike my soul and I shall shatter,
For a broken heart
No man can stand.
