I'm tired and shaky today .
Tension tremors shake my spine.
Beads of polluted perspiration roll down my weathered face .
I haven't slept a sound nights sleep since I wrapped my fragile body in the warmth of her womb .
Every night has been a different dose of death .
Every day is a recovery .
But I never quite make it through the healing process.
One step forward two lines back to back .
One bright sun shiny day .
Sixty uninterrupted hours of filthy sleepless horror .
The bugs are everywhere.
And the queen of the anthill lies motionless next to my malnourished frame.
My inner voice tells me she is oh so close to making her move .
And ripping at my flesh like a praying mantis after pro-creation .
But we don't create a damn thing .
Our structures are more prone to pro-devastation .
I slept for fifteen minutes yesterday with a Bible under my pillow .
And when I woke up it was gone .
Except for a single scripture pasted on the wall of my cell .
I would tell you which excerpt it was if I new God .
But I don't so let's make that same old phone call once again .
And spend daddy's fortune .
It's all so easy in this city .
So easy to do everything .
So easy to deny .
